(storeroom with open celling with asbestos sprayed-on) has been analyzed for asbestos. An x-ray diffraction scan of the material revealed a major crystalline portion to be chrysotile. An optical examination of the material by polarized light microscopy and dispersion staining revealed the presence of many asbestiform birefringent fibers. The dispersion staining characteristics of these fibers were similar to those of chrysotile. The results of the air samples are: Sample 613957-1 613957-2 6169118-1 6189118-2 619957-1 619957-1'* 619957-2 619957-2'* Volume (liters) 450 300 399 330 360 360 390 390 Number Fibers per filter 6218 6995 10104 4664 10104 3109 3109 3886 Concentration (Fibers/cc) .01 .02 .02 .01 ' .03 .009 .008 .01 These are the mislabelled samples.
