' Enclosed are our laboratory report and the k -ray charts of your talc sam ple obtained from Sou tiem T alc. ` ' The sunphibole found in the sam ple has the optical p rop eities of an actin olite, rather than a trem olite, and consists partly of fib ers and partly of equant plates. (The ?v-ray powder diffraction patterns of trem olite and actinolite are essentially the sa m e .) We found no chrysotile. .
