When recovering: operates still to flash and boll used solvent, directing vapors to storage tank; adds inhibitor and suspending agent as.specified; obtains, labels, and delivers samples as required to control lab; drums out precipitated solids and moves to waste pick up area; enters still pot for cleaning. For both cleaning and recovery: controls operating conditions such as temperature, pressure and flow rates; according to standard procedures, manipulates various valves, switches and control mechanisms to charge, recycle, heat or cool; passes liquid or vapor through lines, filters, pumps, heat exchangers, screen, and associated equipment; maintains logs of operation, including tank measurement. RSV00257fn ^A 9 JUSTIFICATION - 8 MAN REDUCTION 4 KO's - 88 BUILDING Two major reductions in KO workload: Currently, KO's and CKO handle 7 production kettles. With this change, only 6 will be operated by KO's and CKO, thus reducing operator workload. Currently, KO1s and CKO handle full water flush after each batch (approximately 30-40 minutes/batch). This has been eliminated from the KO1s and CKO because the Solvent Operator will handle the flush after each batch. 4 AKO1s - 9 2 BUILDING Currently, AKO in 92 Building primarily helps CKO and KO1 a by dumping kettles (also makes up premix). Because of the elimination of the full water flush (30-40 minutes) , the CKO and KO now has enough 'time to dump his own kettles in accordance with his j ob'. des cript ion. Because the number of production kettles reduced in 88 from 7 to 6, the AKO in 88 has some time to help In 92 Building to alleviate kettle backup.
