In the meantime, 7 am enclosing a copy of the Emergency Pro tective Standards on asbestos issued by the Department of Labor under authority granted it by the Occupational Safety and Health Act. This emergency standard will he replaced by a permanent standard within six nonths. Also, I am enclosing a copy of the proposed National Emiss ion Standard on asbestos from the Environmental Protective Agency, plus the proposed menUrane filter method for the determination of atmospheric concentration of asbestos fib ers. . There will be .a number of hearings held before these'pro posals are enacted into law.
