Such assessments do not integrate biological or land use data from USGS or other sources. The Energy Resources Program has piloted multi-resource analysis of the Piceance and Powder River basins, both energy producing areas, that did include such integrated data. Energy and Minerals has, and is, proposing similar multi-resource analysis for assessments to other DOI bureaus; they could become a paradigm for integrated USGS science in the future.
