My dear Doctor Kellyt On 16 June 1955 this Bureau forwarded a request to Doctor Harold C, Hodge, Chairman, National Research Council, Committee on Toxicology for an evaluation of Monsanto*s hydraulic fluid, Pydraul 150. In his letter to this Bureau dated 18 August 1955 Doctor Hodge pointed out that (1) it is inadvisable for the National Research Council, Committee on Toxicology to make a statement about any material, the composition of which 1b completely unknown to it, and (2) that it would be improper to offer an opinion based merely on a summary of information prepared by the company, . It would therefore be appreciated by this Bureau if the Monsanto Chemical Company would make available to Doctor Hodge the composition of Pydraul 150, and original toxicity data which may have been accumulated on this product.
