^ JL HE new 100,000 kilowatt electric generating unit recently placed in service at Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Company's Picway Generating Station located a few miles south of Columbus, Ohio, is supplied by a 900,000 lb/hr. Riley Unit that is designed to operate as a swing load unit using Ohio Strip Mine Coals. The unit features an ample furnace and is fired by four Riley Duplex Pulver izers and twelve Riley Flare Type Coal Burners. This combination of Riley equipment is ideally suited to meet the wide swings in load of the new generat ing unit.
