Dan mentioned that you had a report (not NRL written) that compared toxicity of killifish and Rainbow Trout. Our concern is that we may need to conduct some testing to determine a comparative requirement is we switch to Rainbow Trout. Do you have such a report? 2. Do we still need to do compatibility testing with 3M? I know there a probably a few containers in the fleet here and there. The problem is that when the manufacturers want to do their own in-house testing, they won't have access to any 3M AFFF. 3. Do we want to specify a water temperature range (water in the pan)? If so, what do you think is a good range? 4. I think we should specify a water depth in the pan. I know it is getting into the weeds, but we need a spec written in spec language. It's not very professional to tell them fill the pan with some water. I'm thinking that we specify 1/2" or 3/4". Have Ralph measure his finger to the first knuckle. 5. As far as the number of attempts and the number of passes required, we are thinking that a maximum of four attempts are allowed with two passes required. The thinking is that if you don't get at least two passes, you will get at least 3/4 fails, which would indicate a bad foam. Your thoughts? 6. Bob Darwin suggested a limited fire test using a non-air aspirating nozzle in order to confirm that the product works with non-air aspirating nozzles (like fire hose nozzles and ARFF trucks). v/ r, Steve Fletcher, P.E.
