Dear Mr. Halley:
October 21, 19^9
RECEIVED
GCT 2 6 1943
STATE H E A L T H DEPT.
Bureau of Industrial Hygiene
Thank you very much for your letter of October Ik. .It certainly
goes to show- how mixed up people can get when they are a thousand miles .apart. -
I certainly think we ought to go ahead with Dr. Smyth's work, /, and I am sure Monsanto will defray the expense. I appreciate your point of view and believe that -Dr. Smyth is better qualified to handle such work than Kettering- Institute.
I am sorry I didn't realize exactly what your plans were, as it would have obviated this correspondence. I will write to Dr 'Smyth and ask him if they can do the work.
Will you be able to'obtain the samples to send him, or should that be done b y members of our organization? I am sure both Dr. Durland and Dr. Nelson would appreciate your technical assistance and advice as to exactly what kind of samples to get and from where they should be obtained.
Very truly yours
REKirg
