It was agreed to pay half the costs with SMACNA (up to $3,000.00) to co-sponscr a reception at the SMACNA Annual Meeting. It was agreed that the SMACNA Manual would be distributed by NIMA. Lists from the manufacturers (2,500 each max.) to include contractors, engineers, cede authorities, government agencies, and fire marshalls, are to be sent to the NINA Office prior to April 15, 1968. The cost of the manuals including mailing, etc., is to be billed to the 4 companies. ASHRAE EXHIBITION It v/as agreed that the MIMA Booth would be displayed at the ASHRAE Exposition on January 27 - 30, 1989. ASHRAE GUIDE It was agreed tt allow SMACNA to present the Fibrous Glass Duct Manual to ASHRAE for acceptance for use in the ASHRAE Gui i: . 2 .1966 PUBLICITY Ambrose Walsh cf Wathen/W&lsh reviewed the 1567 Duct Systems Publicity Program. After detailed discussion it was agreed that the 1968 Publicity Program would be articles on the acceptance cf the duct systems and would be directed to (a) management, (b) contractor, (c) union, and (d) code authorities. It was agreed that the supplement that was to be written up by Wathen/Walsh for use as an addenda to the Kettering Report should be dropped. FEDERAL SPECIFICATION W. T. Irwin is to redraft the specification and submit it to the Committee for comment. FRICTION FACTOR CHART C. E. Ernst is to submit copies to the Committee for comment prior to March 1, 1968. BOCA CCDS J. E. Johnson is to redraft the proposal and 'submit it to the Committee for comment. REINFORCEMENTS After extensive discussion, it was agreed that each manufacturer was to supply 1" thick HD and SD board with bending moments as close to the minimum of 3*9 and 7.8 in,lb./in. width as possible for test. Prior to testing, the pertinent physical properties of the board will be sent to Professor X. G. Hcrnung to fit into the theory. OTHER BUSINESS 1. A meeting is scheduled for March 13, 1968, The Summit Hotel, New York, N.Y., with the Health L Safety Committee to dis cuss the health aspects of fibrous glass as they relate to duct liner and duct systems. 2. A meeting is scheduled for April 19, 1968, The Summit Hotel, New York, N. Y., to develop a specification, including application for duct liners. 3. It was agreed that NIMA should renew their r.err.bershio in SBCC. .7_ / 4. it was agreed that the cost cf the calorimeter test on the material that was pretested at FM on February 14, 1968, should be borne by the Duct Systems Committee.
