This revised protocol incorporates suggestions made by Jonathon Ramlow, Ken Mundt, and myself over the period of the last four months. The study design will analyze the cohort data from clinical and traditional epidemiology points of view. These two different modes of analysis will enhance the credibility of the final findings. Please send your written comments on the revised draft protocol to me by June 30,1997. Carlo Tamburro will address all comments and submit a final protocol to me in July. The final protocol will be sent to Gary Marsh and Harvey Checkoway, the peer reviewers of the first protocol, to assure them that their comments were seriously considered and incorporated into the final protocol where appropriate.
