Steel has approved the composite Superex Spin-Glas block for use in blast furnace stoves. We have tentatively named the product Superex S G. Since an order should be coming in soon, and since this new product could further enhance our position with respect to providing the insulation block for blast furnace stoves, I would appreciate it if you would start to prepare to set up to make this product. Along with this I believe Finished Product Specifications should be established that will be consistent with our manufacturing capabilities and the field installation requirements. By copy of this letter I am asking S. E. Wooley and D. B. Wingerter to work with you in setting up manufacturing and Finished Product Specifications. Right now I would estimate that the requirement for A. G. McKee will be needed by about February 1969 and will be for approximately 15,000 square feet. This product can put J-M in an enviable position for block insulation business on blast furnace stoves and first impressions can be lasting impressions.
