M 0335 Dear Dick; Samples supplied by Chardon Rubber were run in a Carbon-arc Weathering apparatus per the ASTM D750 specification. Dura tion of the test was 2000 hours (83 days). Spray time was 18 minutes during a 120 minute irradation cycle using deionized water. The test temperature was 146 degrees Fahrenheit (63 degrees Centigrade). Two test pieces were tested in the weathering apparatus with each piece exposing the side opposite to that of the other piece. The exposed side was identified with an X. Examination of the samples after completion of the test ex hibited what appeared to be water spots. Closer examination under an adjustable Nikon microscope substantiated the ini tial findings. There was no evidence of crazing of crack ing. These samples have been returned to you for your records. Please let us know if we can be of any further help in your development effort.
