Box 264 '800 Lanidex Plaza Parsippany, NJ 07054 Dear Wayne: During our recent negotiations on a non asbestos contract, we had various conversations regarding the continued use of asbestos and the supply of asbestos. It was Carl and my understanding that Tarkett wanted to continue to supply Mannington with all of their asbestos requirements, and indeed, expected to do same. There was no indication that Tarkett may be considering not making asbestos felt. Now we seem to have conflicting information. In particular, it was either stated directly or inferred to our President, Art Williams, by a Tarkett employee that Tarkett was giving due consideration as to whether or not they were going to continue making asbestos felt. Wayne, for clarification the subject matter was not asbestos products, but specifically asbestos felt. This, obviously, raises acute problems for us. I need to know in writing by July 1 whether or .not Tarkett is going to continue supplying Mannington's asbestos felt requirements. Also, I want to know whether or not it is Tarkett's intent to continue to supply us not only in 1982 but for the additional five year period of 1983 1987. MAY 20 1382 W.H.
