The following information was obtained verbally from Mr. Liss or Mr. McNabb nnless otherwise noted.
Process Description: Motor City Diesel Performance & Repair (Motor City) conducts performance and repair work on motor vehicles and engines at a rate of approximately 3-4 vehicles per week. Most work consists of engine and/or transmission replacement or general maintenance on diesel trucks. Perfonnance work has included emission control device deletes, engine tw1es, and turbo replacement, though the company no longer conducts emission control device delete work. Motor City is a dealer for many aftermarket automotive parts brands and sells products online through its website.
Staff Interview: Mr. Liss and Mr. McNabb stated that Motor City previously did delete work on vehicle but recently stopped after hearing about EPA' s enforcement actions against other shops.
TOUR INFORMATION
EPA toured the facility: Yes
Data Collected and Observations: Five vehicles in the shop appeared to have modified aftertreatment emission control systems. Mr. McNabb and Mr. Liss claimed that Motor City did not conduct the emission control device modifications on these vehicles. These vehicles are summarized in Appendix B.

Compliance Assistance: Provided general compliance assistance regarding work performed on tampered vehicles.

Concerns: Mr. Yarbrough expressed concern regarding performance work and sales of parts that affect vehicle emissions, especially for work and parts that remove emission control devices.
