Newsletter #37 -5- December 5, 1971 CORRECTIONS (AIR) - In Newsletter #35 (November 10, 1971) we published the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency's proposed statewide emission control standards and limitations for several pollutants (R71-23). We here with note the following typographical errors and corrections in said proposal: Page 6 of the "General Discussion of Part 2", in Table 2 (Summary of Sulfur Dioxide and Particulate Emission Stand ards) , please make the following changes: a) Incinerators (New residential and Commercial Buildings), change 0.05 grains per SCF to 0.10 grains per SCF. b) Incinerators (Municipal, Industrial & Commercial Incinerator Estmts.), change 0.01 grains per SCF to 005 grains per SCF. CORRECTIONS (WATER) In Newsletter 136 (November 15, 1971), we published the proposed final draft of effluent criteria and related provisions for final com ments (R70-8, R71-14, R71-20). We herewith note the following typo graphical error and correction in said proposal: Page 8 of the proposed final draft. Rule 408 (Additional Contaminants), the date which was published, December 31, 1971, is incorrect and should read "December 31, 1973." OHIO WABASH THERMAL STANDARDS Attached to this newsletter is a copy of the Board's recently adopted Thermal Standards for the Ohio and Wabash Rivers. OTHER ACTION In PCB 70-25S, The Olin Corporation v. EPA, the Board extended Olin's variance to December 1, 1972, for the purpose of disposing of approximately 1,100,000 pounds of rocket grains by open burning. The Bojird noted that no suitable alternative to disposal by open burning had been found.
