Jonathan!
Great to meet you last week. As DOT plans the Secretary's Great American Road Trip to highlight transformational transportation investments, effective workforce development, and positive community impact, Volkswagen Group of America respectfully recommends including Chattanooga, Tennessee as a strategic and meaningful stop on the itinerary.
Chattanooga is not only home to Volkswagen's 4,500 employee manufacturing plant, but it also offers a uniquely compelling intersection of transportation innovation, regional economic development, and a commitment to workforce development, making it ideal to showcase several DOT priorities.
A stop in the "Scenic City" would allow the Secretary to connect transportation policy with realworld impact in a community that represents the best of American innovation, infrastructure, and regional pride. It is a natural fit for a trip designed to celebrate the country's transportation future.
Volkswagen would be delighted to provide further background or coordinate with local partners to support a successful visit. Thank you for considering and we certainly hope to host the Secretary in Chattanooga!
Best, Donald
