November 14, 1959 Mr, J. K. Sabina E. I, duPont de Nemours and Company Wilmington 98, Delaware Dear Mr, Sabina: I am sending herewith three (3) copies of the report on the San Francisco investigation. There are additional copies in ample supply but I have limited the initial distribution by air mail in order not to incur further delay in getting the report out to those most concerned. I am keeping account of the number and destination of all copies. At this time the distribution is being made as follows;- three copies to Standard Oil of California (2 to Mr. MacGregor and 1 to Dr.' Curtis), three copies to you and another to Dr, GerlaCh fa Antioch, three copies to the New York office of Ethyl Corporation and one to Hr. Scales in Detroit. I shall wait for further requests and instructions before sending out other copies. * A few comments may be pertinent. First, no reference has been made to any of the participants in the investigation by name or by organization < the final page of the primary report carries the names of a few persons who worked for us, but The Kettering Laboratory is the only organization named), so that this report can be used to present the facts wherever they snay be needed, without revealing any unnecessary information as to the participating organizations. I should have preferred to acknowledge the contributions made by everyone concerned, but I hoped to avoid any modification of the original report. I trust that I have succeeded in this without appearing tG be lacking in grace and courtesy. Second, the appendix, referred to in the text of the report, will follow later. It will deal with the data obtained on several employees of Standard Oil of California and with the air analyses made in that relationship. The information is useful, but it adds little to the evidence obtained on the primary problem, and I have not wished to wait longer for its completion despite its brevity, for enough time has elapsed - more than I had anticipated - during the preparation of the main report. I shall be glad to have any comments, questions or criticisms that you and your associates may have, and I shall await advice as to the next step to be taken. With kindest regards. Cordially yours, N 6850
