DETRICK ASBESTOS ROPES (BLUE AND WHITE) Detrick Asbestos Ropes are available in two compositions, both of which possess outstanding characteristics for specific applications. Their constructions consist of 100% pure fibers, held firmly in an open lattice-braided jacket, without organic fillers or binders. Detrick Blue Rope is composed entirely of South African Crocidolite Asbestos. Blue in color, Crocidolite Asbestos has no equal for resistance to most acids, caustics and other corrosive exposures. Detrick White Rope is made of Amosite Asbestos fiber, also imported from' South Africa. Amosite Asbestos is a yellowish-white fiber having excellent chemical properties. Both types of Detrick Asbestos Ropes provide an effective insulation and sealing medium for heated applications. They are clean and easy to handle and can be re moved readily and reapplied at service temperatures up to 850 F. They contain no cotton or other organic fillers, hence, cannot rot in low temperature service, nor smoke or burn in high temperature applications. USES Detrick Asbestos Ropes are used principally as a flexible thermal insulation and seal. They are ideal for expansion joints in boiler settings, around furnace doors and in similar heated applications where a thick packing and caulking material is required. As insulation. Detrick Ropes can be wrapped around exhaust manifolds, flanged couplings, gauge lines, irregular fittings, heated accessories, etc. Their resilience, strength and light weight facilitate installation without the need for spe cial tools or skills. HEAT ENCLOSURE PACKAGING Detrick Blue and White Asbestos Ropes are packaged in standard coils of 100 line ar feet, in diameters of 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/2" and 2". Detrick Ropes weigh from one-half to one-third as much as competitive ropes made of Chrysotile Asbestos. The latter usually contain an organic filler and are sold on a weight basis.
