Ltd* to Mr. Humphreys advising him of termination of his employment is being forwarded tor your information by this mail, this letter is self expiinstory In order that a wrong impression should not be created In. the minds of the remaining mine staff, you should tell Mr* Thomas and Mr. Tcuag that the fact that Mr. Humphreys is leaving is in no way an indication of any possible cessa tion of expansion by this Company but that on the contrary, we are dispensing with his services because expansion of production from Wlttenooa mine is not taking place with suffi cient rapidity* MB. THOMAS* We wish you to advise Mr* Thomas that we propose that he be Mine Superintendent at Wittenoom* We have no record here of his present salary, but assume it is approximately 720 p.a* and we propose to increase this to 900 p.a* immediately* Should Mr* Thomas be getting appreciably more than 720 p*a* now or should you believe 900 p.a. to be inadequate, please advise us* Generally, Mr. Thomas' duties will be those of Acting Mine Manager* Bis reports and letters should be addressed to you as Manager and forwarded on by you under cover of the ordinary correspondence, together with any comments, of course, that you say care to make* We will reply, as at present, through the normal correspondence and will endeavour to keep mining matters in separate letters for convenience as is also done at pressnt* C 1266 A.B.A. Ltd., Wittcnoom 10th Septemoer, 1'34S.
