The polypropylene is Hercules PC-302, which is a homopolymer specifically recommended for use with mineral fillers. RG-600 is present in this resin at 40% by weight and can be let down to the level recommended by the Alcoa formulation. One of the examples given shows that Union Carbide's HDPE DMDJ-5140 with 11% RG-600 or Hercules PP Profax 8523 with 12% RG-600 give properties equivalent to impact styrene at equal or lower cost and the HDPE and PP have the added solvent resistance, etc. of polyolefins.
