In addition, our existing liability burden increases with the contint of producing this product as a result of O.S.H.A.'s statement of just fication in issuing the almost prohibitive standard. Specifically, O.S.H.A:'s "health effects" section of the ruling states: "O.S.H.A. is aware of no instance in which exposure to a toxic substance has more.clearly demonstrated detrimental health effects on humans than has asbestos exposure." It is for these and other economic and moral reasons Carlisle's inten is to discontinue the manufacture of asbestos products.
