Kehoe, Director Kettering Laboratory of Applied Physiology General Hospital Cincinnati, Ohio Dear Doctor Kehoe: The copies of your physical and laboratory findings which were taken here have been turned over to me, as have your letters, your reports, and other results of the study that you made in May. I have read through all of them and am now trying to correlate the whole matter in an effort to find out just where we stand here at Harrison Division. X shall probably have to call on you more than once in the future to keep on the right track. If you have any sugges tions to make, or any recommendations, X am sure that Mr. Jenkins, as well as myself, will be more than glad to receive them. If there are any of the men in this group whom you have ex amined and on whom you would like further data that I can gather, I would be glad to do so and send it to you. During the first two or three weeks of my tenure here sev eral of the employees, both male and female, requested trans fers because of nasal irritations end gastric upsets, which they believed were due to either paint or solder flux fumes. To some of these employees transfers were granted, and others upon investigation were found to be v/orking where there were absolutely no fumes and where the employees around said they could smell nothing. Since this first outburst I have not had any cases, and I am beginning to believe that perhaps the fumes were being overworked a bit at the start. However, I do see a nose once in a while which has an early erosion, and Y/e have had one case where Dr. Parker, our Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist here in town, recommended very, strongly that the man be transferred from the soldering line immediately. This was done, and his nose is quite well now.
