Mr. Lehnert said the above would require considerable research and a great amount ot time on the part of several people. Therefore, he wants to know why our client wants to know if it was used on their project. The fact that
the client was inquiring if it was used was not justification enough for him, it seems, to research.

Gentlemen:

We have had a request to furnish you information regarding our marketing of Bestex texture which contained asbestos. The manufacture of Bestex with asbestos was discontinued in late ' 1973. This came over two years before the Consumer Products Safety Commission ban in 1976.
Bestex texture, after being applied-, is in. a hardened state
such that the asbestos fibers are unlikely to become airborne.
The health hazard associated with asbestos is bpeathing air
with high concentrations of asbestos fibers, over long periods
of time. You might wish to confirm this with the Consumer
Products Safety,Commission or others who have conducted studies
on the effect of asbestos fibers..; Let me know if I can be of
further help.
'
Very truly yours,
C. W. Lehnert, Manager - Product Development &
