I am pleased and relieved to learn that Monsanto is reacting to the present great interest in the "persistent Chlorinated hydrocarbon" problem in a responsible way. My more recent letters to St. Louis were prompted by my puzzlement at what appeared to be an unrealistic and undiplomatic method of handling the problem. We will be pleased to see you in Berkeley in August. I will be leaving August 23 to attend the International Congress of Nutrition in Prague, but any time between 4 August and 22 August is available. I note from your letter that the separation of isomers in any considerable quantities is not yet included in your program. But we would still be interested even in milligram quantities of pure product to use as chromatographic standards if such were available. Again, I appreciated your letter.
