ORAL LB50 TEST IN GUINEA PIGS
Procedures The teat material, as a suspension in c o m oil, was administered by intragas trie intubation in single doses to 6 groups of male and 6 groups of female young adult Duncan Hartley guinea pigs, 10 per group. The
surviving guinea pigs were weighed and observed during a 14-day recovery period and then sacrificed. The LB5Q value was calculated from the mortality data using the method of D. J. Finney.**

Clinical Signs:
Males: Stained and/or wet perineal area, weakness at all levels tested except 670 and 400 mg/kg.
Stained face at 670, 200 and 150 og/kg.
Eyes half closed at 300 and 200 ng/kg.
Lacrlmatlon at 200 and 150 mg/kg.
Salivation at 300 and 150 ng/kg.
Ataxia at 670 mg/kg.
Tremors at 150 mg/kg.
Humped posture at 200 ng/kg.
Height loss at all levels tp :d except at 670 and 400 mg/kg.
All deaths occurred within 1-4 days after dosing.
