SUBJECT: List of Prime Contracts

OHJ
CAL list of prime contracts pertaining to companies
and products supervised by the Safety and Technical Equipment
Division. The contracts Included in this list are those re
ported to the War Production Board In the period from Novem-
ber 1 to Voveaber 8, 1942.
Prime contracts represent by far the largest pro-
portion of the business of most of these companies. It is necessary to folio* these data very closely, therefore, if a real effort is made to keep abreast of the trends In the re spective industries. This situation *111 undoubtedly continue to become Increasingly true In the future as the production of eivilian-type products is further restricted.
Rote: COHFIDPfTIAIi reports, aoooiJlng to General Administrative Instruction Ho. 4-27, "shall be made available only to those per sons who have use for such information In the discharge of their publio duties." Provision is also madethat when such reports are not in use they "shall be kept In a locked sale or other se curely looked container."
