J* Henrdickson M* H* Detrick Company The items that were discussed in the Land Session U. Marine Session that were held in the morning were outlined, COSTS OF TESTING It 'was- reported that many of the manufacturers thought that the repeated testing of materials that was required under several specifications was unnecessary and that the costs of this testing were passed on to the agencies buying the material. It was believed that a modified QFL plan, manufacturer's certification and/or an NIMA sponsored certification program would help alleviate this problem* CONSISTENCY TEST (ASTM C 405) A manufacturer reported that tests he conducted in his laboratory seemed to indicate that the ASTM Methof of Test for Consistency (ASTM C 405) of thermal insulating cements did not give consistent results.
