American Industrial Hygiene Association. American Association of Industrial Nurses. National Conference of Gcveramemtal Industrial Hygienists. American Association of Industrial Dentists. A preliminary meeting to start planning fer our 1946 annual c*nvention was held on Thursday evening, September 13th, in Chicago, when Dr, Leyal A. Shoudy, General Chairman, called together representatives from each partici pating group to set up a tentative program schedule and discuss plans to make this our bestjmeeting yet. We were indeed glad that there was someone to represent eacii of the participating groups at this meeting, Yjou will recall it was planned previously to hold our 1946 meeting at the Drake Hotel, but conditions have made it necessary for the Drake to ask to be released from their tentative contract (see attached letter), and the decision reached at our meeting on September 13th was to hold our 1946 convention at the Hotel Sherman, which will give us plenty of meeting room facilities, exhibit space,j and more guest rooms. Two other large hotels located within a block will supply the additional guest rooms necessary, which will make a more satisfactory housing arrangement than we could have secured had we had our headquarters at the Drake. Dr. H. Glenn Gardiner will again be Chairman of the Scientific Exhibits and Medical Motion Pictures Committee, and we are hoping that all groups will coeperatejin making our Scientific Exhibit, a real success. It is planned to have a room sei aside for the continuous showing of medical motion pictures, and contributions to this program will also be appreciated. Tentative Program Schedule, as set up at the meeting on September 13th is enclosed herewith, and you will note this follows last year's plans very closely. It wais felt by those present that this would be acceptable to all concerned. Tfe are anxious to secure good publicity far in advance of our 1946 meeting, and to do this it will be necessary to get programs lined up, with actual acceptances frda. speakers, in the near future. Dr. Shoudy would like to have ycur tentative program, showing subjects to be presented together with the name of the individual who Has accepted the assignment to give the paper, by November 15th. This will enable him to get the material assimilated, and into the hands of INDUSTRIAL MEDICINE journal for publication in the January, 1945 issue.
