Air monitoring yields no evidence that these gaskets present a health problem. However, there 16 potential for public relations or employee relations concern; and it is recommended that sites with bonded asbestos gaskets in their breathing air system either replace these gaskets with non-asbestos gaskets, or periodically monitor breathing air for asbestos.
