'J^Taking exhaust hoses from other points to handle this leak only compounded the problem. Two 400 + ppm leaks, {one at the 0C* ^rc^* ^oor YCI filter, and the other at a RTD in the condenser) were found and contained. The VCI was then polymerized and the leaks in the condenser system were repaired. Exhaust hoses are still being used to clear the VCI filter leak from the building. These problems resulted in the yellow lights being on 22% of the C shift. A high reading of 8.5 ppm was recorded during digging out of a solid charge in a 30 gallon reactor. There were only two excursions on the weekend, even though two 1100 gallon charges were ran, one which was aborted early in the reaction. Various leaks in the fifteen gallon equipment and sampling of SA 980 caused numerous short term excursions during these shifts. Wind was from the south and lab was also high. Looks like ALGCP is dumping on us. 32 excursions made this one of the poorer days of the week. 22 of these were recorded before noon while the wind was from the south bringing ALGCP ventings our way. Almost all readings were below 3 ppm and lasted only one cycle. Later in the day, the B/D and stripping of a 30 gallon charge caused some high readings. Twenty eight pounds of solids had to dug out from the poly. Wind was from north all shifts. 1100"s were preparing for a latex charge. 15 gallons had three polys for maintenance and two with no specs. GENERAL: The week had some very good days, but also some very bad days. The majority of the problems were our own, with only a minority of ALGCP suspected releases. The 1100's ran charges both days on the weekend, but had only two tights. This, along with cleanup of 1100'$ for a latex charge, running of the VCl-free charge, and downtime on the fifteen gallons due to equipment repairs, indirectly is pointing a finger at the thirty gallon procedures being prime suspect to a high number of releases.
