Clean Water Rule
EPA-HQ-OW-2017-0203-001
I am writing to strongly oppose the EPA proposal to rescind the 2015 Clean Water Rule.
I support the 2015 Clean Water Rule because it protects the Nation's streams and wetlands, and in tern the health and safety of our communities and industries.
I cannot imagine the consequences if the EPA consciously chooses to compromise water quality. Lack of access to pure clean water is a damaging problem in many countries. The United States still has clean, clear headwaters that are the source of our rivers, many of which supply drinking water to our cites and rural communities. The 2015 Clean Water Rule was designed to ensure that water quality remains clean and clear. This is about much more that serving the sporting desires of the fishing sub-culture. Clean water fuels our farms, industries as well as our wells and tap water. Clean water is a natural resource.
It is our responsibility to provide responsible stewardship into the future. The long term benefits of clean water trump short term potential gains of rescinding the Clean Water Rule.
I am counting on the EPA and our government to protect our headwaters and our nation's clean water. This is about human health, not about political philosophy. Please have the courage and long term vision to defend the Clean Water Act. I implore you - do not rescind the 2015 Clean Water Rule.
