I have marked the pages most applicable to the application you need for the saw we looked at. (VS-401 and VS-709) As you will see the book recommends enclosing the operation, but I don't think that would be necessary or practical based on the materials in use. A design more similar to VS-709 should work well if all unnecessary openings were sealed and an overated fan were used to produce enough velocity to capture the metal shavings and get them to a baffle trap. As we discussed, the book is "for keeps".

Conoco Chemicals Company VCM Plant informed your office that an exceedance of the total suspended solids (TSS) discharge limit set by NPDES Permit (No. LA 0003476) occurred on May 20, 1984. In response to a request for information in addition to that provided in the initial notification (dated May 25, 1984) we are hereby informing your office that 5,690 pounds of TSS discharged via outfall 201 on May 20, 1984.
