It was alleged that the etching machine and impregnator in Dept. #518 were the cause of the occupational disease.
The impregnation process has been changed and it operates only about once every 3 months. This operation had been automatic and now is hand operated.
Air samples were collected at the etching operation for nitric add, sodium hydroxide and chromates.
The air sampling equipment for sodium hydroxide consisted of a personal air sampling pump operated at 2 liters per minute and a mixed cellulose ester'' filter with a 37 millimeter diameter and a 0.8. micron pore size.- , " .
