RE: Grinding
Following your recent factory run using the new Vlctocor 300 surface grinder, a joint Engineering and Sales decision approves the 120 grit for the operation. The approval of the 120 grit, in no way, constitutes an approval of the S-100 anti-stick coating.
Lab tests on saaiples with the 80, 120 and ISO grit grind indicated that, functionally, the sealability and anti-stick properties were the same for all three. The decision then became one involving appearance and salability. The 120 grit was approved at this time.
Please proceed with necessary steps to evaluste Manufacturing capabilities, of gauge control, using the 120 grit belt. It is recommended that, after the unit is la operation end experience has been gained, addi tional work be undertaken to refine the operation with a further study using the 80 grit belt. If the use of the 80 grit belt can result In a substantial savings, the entire situation should be reviewed by 8ales, Engineering and Manufacturing at that tine.
