In particular, we are concerned with the preparation and use of tetravinyllead, divinyllead dichloride, and divinylmercury. Knowing of your extensive background in the safety precautions required by the use of volatile organic derivatives of the heavy metals, I would greatly appreciate any information that you can give us. The problem areas follow: 1. Sampling techniques and analytical techniques of the air in various parts of the laboratory. 2. Toxicity and toxicology'of closely related compounds (l believe it is safe to assume that these materials behave similarly to the ethyl derivatives). 3. Techniques and interpretation of urine analyses. We are already following the precautions outlined in your bulletin "Laboratory Use of 'Ethyl' Antiknock Compound".
