Gerber At the present time specifications on Aroclors apply only to shipments made to the General Electric Company and to Comstock & Wescott. In making shipments to other firms, an effort is made to furnish them with material as uniform as possible. The specifications for Comstock & Wescott will be sent to you shortly, and the specifica tions for 1254 shipped to General Electric Company are as follows: 1. ATI shipments of Aroclor 1254 are to be marked "G. E, Material No. 1476". F 2. An advance sample will be required representing each % batch of the treating compound awaiting shipment. This sample must be accompanied by complete physical, chemical and electrical test data made by the Swann Company, and must conform to the following specifications: Flash Point Higher than 350*C. Burn Point Higher than 350#C. Tiscosity at 98.9*C. 45-50 seconds Saybolt universal Gravity 1.510-1.520 at 65C. referred to water at 15.5C. Pour Point +10C l2*C. Color 1 or less than 1 (N.P.A.) Acidity Less than .015 mg. of Sodium Hydroxide per gram of liquid. Evaporation at 100*C Less than .4# by wt. after 6 hours heating. Distillation Bange 10# 360*C.-368*C. E. was interested at one time; however, In view of the fact that there appears to be no interest in this Aroclor at present, this specification will be withheld until they develop farther interest in this Aroclor. In the past all correspondence from Anniston with the General Electric Company has been carried on between Mr. Clark and myself. This has been for the purpose of facilitating our work and it is suggested that this be continued until such time as Aroclor shipments become a routine matter, when the forwarding of samples r and analysis sheets would become a routine part of the Swann Chemical Company activities.
