Th* Hooker Class k Paint Manufacturing Co*party in Chicago will have its paint available alnost Immediately and ar* having a sales nesting about it this week. They have approximately 950 dealers. Petek Bros, of Milwaukee baa had a pure wait# lead paint on the aarket for several years and has enjoyed e reasonable amount of success with it. The Minnesota Lesd k Oil Paint Company, although not anthusiastlc about th* Idee, ere narking time and awaiting developaents and, should a denand develop for a pur* white lead paint in ready-aixed form, they will pos.ibly put such a paint on the market to satisfy th* demand. Peesonno-Hutcheoo Company of Cleveland now has this paint on the market. Geo. 0. Vetr.erlll Company of Philadelphia, has put a pure lead in oil paint on th* market for some years but has never pushed it. They have no* become enthusiastic, have published a new color card and literature, and are giving 100 per cent cooperation. Sampson Paint 0 Color Com pany, Inc. of Klchmond, is planning to put out a pure white lead paint in th* very near future. Mr. Peters pointed out that one question that has oom* up in his discussion wltn most of these paint companies 1st If they are successful in developing a market for rvedy-mlxed pur* whit* lead paint, wnat will the white lead manufacturers themselves do? Having don* the missionary work, will to# whit* lead manufacturers place pure whit* lead ready-mixed paint on th* aarket themselves In competition with th* mixed paint manufacturers? ; I A letter sent by the Keystone Varnish Company to its dealers, was read at the meeting. Th* letter pointed to th* lead content of their paint and nad* a virtue of It. Th* advisability of advertising the price of pest* white lead to consumers inasmuch as pur* wr.lt* lead paint now being placed on th* market la ready mixed fora sells for about 11.00 a gallon more, was discussed. It wss brought out that th* consumer price on pest* whit* lesd wss only sdvertlsed In th* farm papers hut It was felt that this matter should be given further consideration. Mr. Peters read an editorial which Phelsn-Paust Pslnt Manufactur ing Company had asked him to try to get placed In various newspapers In Missouri, which Is such stronger In Its advocacy of pure whit* lead than anything th* white lead manufacturers have ever dared to say. It was an Indication of the enthusiast) of some mixed paint manufacturers for ready-mixed whit* lead paint. I *smnr.i SJSwqwgs 'jsyn' HWPipiaB||.W.--M jwa^xi^v? .maraA^:, ...
