Attached is the 1970 assessment #1 of the Lead Industries Association in the amount of $7,979.0^. Executive Committee approval to pay this assessment is requested.
Please note that the rate for 1970 is .09 cents per ton as compared to .05 cents per ton for 1969. On the basis of the ,09 cents rate the annual assessment will be, approximately, $32,000., whereas,
on December 16, 1969, the Executive Committee approved a membership
assessment of only $25,000. The reason for the increase in the rate is explained in Mr. Whitson's letter of December 2h9 1969 to Mr. E. R. Rowley, a copy of which is attached.
