It was not my understanding, either from Dr. Crudgirgtonis report or from your letter of November 6th, that 'you : felt it desirable for us to go directly Into this mat ter without further advice from you. I have therefore allowed it to go until I should hear from you further. I am inclined to feel that' the handling of a case of this sort is a matter for some caution. Considering the absence of any factors which would lead me to feel that the claim had any merits, I shjould not want to take any action which would Indicate thefthe Ethyl Corporation has any anxiety over the outcome of^ the case. If Mr.'^ MQ^.were still in your employ, we should certainly take immediate steps to look after : him. However, under the circumstances I feel It would probably be desirable for your'company, as his.employer, to get In touch with him and to suggest, if you wish, that you would like to have him either see us or corres pond with us. In other words, I feel that If you would make the contact for us it would be a much more, desir able thing than for us to operate on our own Initiative.
