Andersen February 19, 1988 ETHYLENE OXIDE INDUSTRY COUNCIL CONTRIBUTION Your approval is requested for Vista to make an $8000 contribu tion for 1987 dues and another $8000 contribution for 1988 dues for the Ethylene Oxide Industry Council. We budgeted a $5000 contribution in 1987 but did not make payment as the council did not send an invoice or press the issue until the fiscal year was over. We again budgeted a $5000 contribution in 1988 but later received notice that $8000 was our appropriate contribution as a "nonproducer ethoxylator." The Ethylene Oxide Industry Council is a program of the Chemical Manufacturers Association (CMA), Although we have not joined the CMA, we have been supporting programs in E0, EDC and methyl chloride since they are useful in promoting sound environmental regulations and performing product testing. Vista's environmental group administers the programs while the contributions come out of the business area budgets. R. J.
