Schilling - Dallas PLAINTIFF'S EXHIBIT GP-1149 We have shipped 25 bags of subject material to Mr. D. W. McCubbin as requested in Mr. Abbey1 s letter of 12/2/58 addressed to you. The shipment left here today by motor freight. There are 3k bags of this material in stock at the plant, which should be enough for a trial in this area. We should be hearing from Mr. Schilling shortly concerning a suitable customer for this trial. Mr. Lehnert onlyt This material was ohly slightly whiter than our regular Certex and apparently equal to it in all other respects. The Philip Carey asbestos used in this material was 7RF-9 which they shipped us and which is somewhat finer than you reported. The first shipment of asbestos was labeled 7RF and no test was made on it for fineness. We made up a ton batch of 9Ui and the mixer man apparently dumped a batch of 931 without closing the lower gate. We *ot 125 bags of contaminated Certex and 3k bags of doubtful 931 which we rejected. We then made a 1500# batch of 9kk using the remaining 7RF-9 and 10 lbs. of the 7RF from the original shipment. This material is what we shipped. The remaining 30 lbs. of 7RF was used in a 1,000 lb. batch of 905, which was satisfactory in every respect. A -- i 0 fitUSTVVALL r;v-' SGP 0001881
