In accordance with your wish we shall not approach the matter of Dimethyl Ether. I think it is likely, however, that Mr. Kobinson has misunderstood my point of view in the matter. It Is not that I am particularly interested In Dimethyl Ether or that I had in mind the desirability of obtaining specific information in relation to Dimethyl Fther. It is rather that our observations on the anaesthetics have reached the point where it 3 necessary to set up con centration mixtures which can be very accurately controlled and checked at their entrance to the cage ^and at their exit. The ease of handling this problem by the ad-mixture of two gases of approximate!^ the^ same boiling point and vapor pressure such as Dimethyl Ether and F-12, is so much greater than that associated witii the handling of P-12 and Ethyl Ether that it seemed to Hie worth while to use Dimethyl Ether In this connection. This Is the more time since it Is quite clear that there is no possibility whatever of using Ethylene In mixtures with P-12. Nevertheless, In accordance with your desire we shall attempt the more accurate measurements of concentrations in the case of Ethyl Ether,' I make the above explanation not at all for the purpose of persuasion, but rather to indicate the practical point of view involved In my suggestion.
