Our facility at Edmore, Michigan, has been running a pilot plant and is producing a nev magnetic material. Part of the process involves using large quan tities of metallic mercury under heat and pressure. They have received considerable help in laying out their processes from their State Department of Health. They have also a routine program of blood and urine mercury level determinations on their employees. Last week, one of the engineers was here in the East, dropped in and we discussed the problem. They are concerned because they plan to expand soon. From what he told me I got the impression that they need the assistance of a com petent, industrial physician on the site to review their environmental control measures and to review and update their program for protecting employees. This plant is not my responsibility and I suggested they seek this expert assistance. They, in turn, asked my help in locating someone. My questions are these: 1. Do you or does anyone at Kettering act in this capacity as an on-the-spot consultant? 2. If not, do you know anyone you can recommend for this task? 3.
