Coffee with U.S. Chamber of Commerce Energy Committee Representatives of American companies involved in LNG, nuclear power, energy efficiency, and solar/wind power would be interested in coffee with Administrator Pruitt to discuss issues they face in Japan.
Meeting with Minister of Environment Follow up on your conversations with Minister Yamomoto at the G-7, including three areas of MOEJ-EPA regional cooperation: 1) air quality; 2) mercury and 3) environmental education.
Meeting with Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry METI Minister Seko recently met with Secretary Perry. METI would likely be interested in talking about clean coal and LNG; METI also covers nuclear power. Australia has a geographical advantage over the U.S. in terms of exporting coal to Japan, as transport costs from the East Coast are 3-4 times what they are from Australia. METI would likely emphasize the importance of research and development on USC/IGCC/CCUS technology and exporting it to the rest of the world.
