Dear leek:
the analytical findings on the samples of blood end urine 3ent ua on March 21, 1941 were ea follows:
trine - 0.25 Kgs. Pb per liter
Mood - G.Q&5 Kgs. ?b per 100 gms.
Ms lead excretions are dropping off nicely and should reach normal in a few weeks. Pros this joint on it might be a good idea to take the samples once a week, rather than at twoweek Intervals.
Ste urine sample on SRpHPls relatively low (#.10 mgs. Pb per liter) compared with hi3 previous figure and is consistent with his having had a brief severe exposure in the day preceding the first sample that X took. On the basis of this ssslytleal result, there would not appear to be say cause for concern at present.
note that our needle was not returned with
the fe&es of blood. If you will send It baok to
U3, w will dean it up and forward it in time
for yea to take another sample
Ov/ing
to the problem of contamination, it ia our policy
to clean these needles here at the laboratory after
every use .
received a letter from Dr. Neal of the United States Public Health Service last v?eek in which h mentioned that he had not yet beard from the B&Llo Health people or the Industrial Commission in Colorado concerning the proposed code for lead plants. If you have opportunity to phone or meet
Dr. H. I . Hess - {2} - March 29 19^1
either B. . Howe or Kelly of the Factory Inspection Division, I would appreciate your suggestions to them that they write Dr. Thompson or Dr. Heal concerning the code. I believe that he is v?aiting to hear from them before he forwards his advice to them.
Cordially,
