Snodgrass on January 21, 1987. He was monitored while installing a metal vapor barrier on steam lines containing Asbestos insulation, in the basement of the 704 Powerhouse. He was equipped with an AOR57-A half-face HEPA cartridge respirator and two pair of coveralls, the outer being disposable. The exposure monitoring results indicate that the levels, for this non-abatement job, were well below the 0.1 fiber/cc Action Level, established by OSHA for an 8-hour workday (TWAg). However, we recommend that the insulators continue to follow closely the established procedures for this type of work. We plan more monitoring upon notification from you that this job has been resumed. Please notify P. K. Snodgrass of his exposure monitoring results as soon as possible.
