Wormser, Secretary-Treasurer The meeting was called to order with Mr. Clinton H. Crane in the chair. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION PHELPS DODGE CORPORATION The Chairman said that the Secretary had communicated with the Phelps Dodge Corporation, which desired to be regular members of the Lead Industries Association but preferred to limit its subscription to $1,000 per annum. 7 \ It was moved, seconded and carried that the Phelps Dodge Corporation be admitted to full membership in the Lead Indus tries Association, with the privilege of limiting its subscrip tion to $1,000 per annum. U.S. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY ADVISORY COUNCIL The Committee considered a request of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to designate some official of the Lead Industries Ask sociation to serve as a member of the Construction Industry Ad visory Council, organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the Secretary of the Lead Industries Association be designated to serve as a representative of the lead industry on the U. S. Chamber of Commerce Construction Industry Advisory Council. LIA0Z7C Executive Committee Meeting Minutes October 3, 1945 GENERAL PROMOTION PROGRAM FOND_____________ ___ The Secretary requested an appropriation of $10,000 from the General Promotion Program Fund to cover the cost of advertising in trade journals (two insertions) on behalf of white lead in order to publicize the removal of restrictions on white lead production and consumption which is expected to take place momentarily and to publicize the return of white lead as an available paint material. The Secretary reported that the white lead industry had initiated and started the request for such a campaign. It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that the Secretary be authorized to appropriate and expend a sum not to exceed $10,000 from the General Promotion Program Fund on behalf of a white lead advertising program among trade journals.
