As I indicated to you on January 19, we have just uncovered a serious problem relative to the Nos. 012, OlA, and 015 sources project. The vendor (Crosby) shipped to us Sage Safety Valves. Safety valves manufactured by Sage are not approved by Union Carbide. Charles Revette is actively trying to determine a workable solution possibly use rupture disc as an interim solution until the approved Farris or Crosby valves can be delivered. The expected delivery time for the safety valves will probably be in the order of 26*3U weeks Charles, in the course of coming up with a solution, is putting to gether a summary of the history of events leading up to the delivery of the Sage valves into the 514 Plant Receiving Department. I am interested in knowing from you, with a copy of this lett r to Jack, any advise you can give me that will help in setting us straight once again, i.e., what penalities could we expect from the authorities? I would also like to request clarification on a slight discrepancy between the Solvent Vinyl Resins Departmental Report which claims thatStfull comfo lance date for Source no. uiz Is Mav 31. 197&1 whereas, J.
