Dr. Kenneth H. Maddy Monsanto Chemical Company 800 N. Lindbergh Boulevard St. Louis, Missouri 63166
Dear Ken:
I have to assume from the failure of Dr, Speziale to respond to my letters, and from the lack of any response to a letter of mine to Mr. Bock, that the Monsanto Company has decided on a "no-cooperation" policy. Dr. Harold Wilcke (Ralston Purina) suggested that I call Dick Gordon. He was away when I called, and did not try to return ray call, as far as I know.
I realize that these matters (Arochlors) are far from your responsibility, and that you are tXft of touch with them. It is still a curious and not very happy circumstance that a large powerful company like Monsanto will not discuss a problem of potential importance with a faculty member of the University of California,
With best personal regards.
Very truly yours
